Claire, a self-taught artist from Quebec, has built her career at the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS) while nurturing her passion for drawing in all its forms. Although she has explored other mediums such as acrylic, ink, drawing, and sculpture, dry pastel remains her preferred technique. She enjoys the direct contact with the material and constantly explores its possibilities.

After initially focusing on portrait drawing, Claire gradually shifted towards close-up animal art. She finds it easier to play with her color palette and places great importance on the animals' gaze that she represents. After many years of research, she has developed a method to fix and varnish her works, avoiding the need for framing under glass.

Claire believes she is the only pastel artist in Quebec to adopt this technique, which is the result of her hard work and passion for her art.
